NEW DELHI, Nov 7: Chana prices edged higher by 0.44 per cent to Rs 3,170 per quintal in futures trade today as speculators created fresh positions, supported by pick up in demand in the spot market.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, chana for delivery in December rose by Rs 14, or 0.44 per cent to Rs 3,170 per quintal with an open interest of 58,360 lots.
Similarly, the commodity for delivery in November gained Rs 13, or 0.41 per cent to Rs 3,197 per quintal in 93,670 lots.
Analysts said fresh positions built-up by speculators after pick up in demand in the spot market against restricted arrivals from producing belts, mainly led to the rise in chana prices. (PTI)
