JAMMU, Apr 26: District Youth Services and Sports Officer (DYSSO), Jammu, Chanchal Kour inaugurated the District Level Inter-School Tournaments in the disciplines of Kick Boxing, Boxing, Wushu, Silambam, Thang-Ta, Sqay Martial Art and Taekwondo in an impressive and well attended function at Indoor Complex, MA Stadium, here.
In all, 253 boys drawn from 14 Zones of Jammu District took part in the competitions.
The competitions are being organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports, under the patronage of Sheikh Fayaz Ahmad, Director General Youth Services & Sports and under the overall supervision of Madan Lal, Joint Director Youth Services & Sports Jammu. Mrs Kour is the Organizing Secretary of the Tournament.
The main objective of the competitions is to select the teams of Jammu District for the next level of competitions i.e Inter District Division Level Competitions.
Today, on day-1 the events were held in Under-14 and Under-17 Kick Boxing, Under-17 Wushu, Under-14 and Under-17 Boxing and Under-14 Taekwondo.
