JAMMU, Jan 20: Social activist, religious preacher and custodian of Ziyarat Peer Ali Baadshah,   Baba Chanchal Singh today called on Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh at New Delhi and discussed with him various issues of Jammu, particularly the prevailing situation along the border with Pakistan.
During the half an hour long meeting, Chanchal Singh highlighted the grievances of border inhabitants and urged for a long term Government strategy for their safety and security. He stressed for immediate relief to the victims and starting early work on construction of community and individual bunkers along border.
Chanchal Sin-gh also drew attention towards some other issues like drug menace and unemployment among youth. . He urged the Union Home Minister to announce a special package for the Jammu youth besides border inhabitants and farmers, who were feeling ignored.
Rajnath Singh assured Chanchal Singh that he would visit Jammu next month and personally meet the groups of Jammu people for reiterating the Central Government’s resolve to ameliorate all their grievances.
