JAMMU, Oct 30: Defeating Guwahati by 68 runs, Chandigarh XI entered the semifinals in the ongoing Eid-Diwali Milan Cup T20 Cricket Tournament, being organized jointly by JKP, Simula Group of Companies and Atman Educational Society at MA Stadium, here.
Batting first, Chandhigarh scored 149 in 20 overs with Sandeep (42), Ravi (40) and Rinku (20).
Manish took 5 wickets, while Karan, Chandan and Akash took 1 wicket each for Guwahati.
In reply, Gowahati managed to score 81 runs in 20 overs, thus lost the match by a big margin of 68 runs. Chandan Dass (37) was the main contributor. Anil and Lakshman took 2 wickets for Chandigarh. Sandeep of Chandigarh was declared man of the match.
In another match Challenger Jammu defeated Mumbai by 55 runs in an easy contest.
Batting first, Challenger scored 160 runs for 8 wikcets with Sahil Bhalwal (44), Sandeep (35), Paras Sharma (24) being the main contributors. Akash took 3, while Rahul claimed 2 wickets for Mumbai XI.
In reply, Mumbai bundled out for 105 runs in 19 overs. Vijay (23) and Rinku (24) were the main contributors. Sahil Bhalwal was the pick of the bowlers, who bagged 3 wickets, while Parveen Singh and Paras Sharma bagged 2 wickets each. Sahil Bhalwal was declared man of the match.
In another match, Delhi drubbed Punjab by 8 wickets in a one-sided contest. Punjab scored 103 runs, while Delhi achieved the target by losing 2 wickets.
The matches were officiated by Saleem-ur-Rehman, JD Singh, Sandeep Manchanda and Sanjay Bhatti as umpires, while Yogesh acted as scorer.
