This has reference to the news item ‘College girl murdered in bus ‘ DE Nov 14.
Whatever may be the reason behind the killing of the girl in a moving bus, the fact remains that it was a horrible scene which evoked strong protests by people and sent shock waves across the society. The incident clearly reveals that any society belonging to any denomination is losing its moral fibre weaved since centuries, and is increasingly becoming intolerent.
Not a single day passes when a incident of this nature is not reported. A son killing his father, a father raping his daughter like incidents send shivers down one’s spine, and impell one to understand the factors behind such incident.
Our religious books can to a great extent help in stemming the rot. There is also need to strengthen law and order system in the country.
Justice system has to be efficient, reliable and quick. The incident should force citizens to wake up from deep slumber to meet the challenge.
