Check on pollution must for balancing climate change: Bakaya

JAMMU, Nov 29: An extensive awareness programme on climate change- a consequence of Global warming was jointly organized by Humanity Public School and Green Alternatives- an NGO, here today.
Naveen Shiksha Kendra and Bharti Public School participated in the event. Gaurav Charak, Principal of Humanity Public School presented the welcome address and bouquet to the guests.
The Programme was inaugurated by Vijay Bakaya, MLC and former Chief Secretary J&K in an impressive function in the school premises.
Members of Industrial Association Birpur were present on the occasion.
Speaking on the theme, Mr Bakaya insisted that check on pollution is must for balancing climate change and requested the organisers/participants for undertaking more and more research on de-polluting technologies for a sustainable development.
He lauded the efforts of Green Alternatives (NGO) for carrying out such awareness programmes at grass root level and in the remote areas.
On this occasion an Inter-School debate competition was held in HPS followed by cultural activities and prize distribution ceremony.
Aditya Yadav of Humanity Public School bagged the top position while as Gourav of Naveen Shiksha Kendra and Diksha Gupta of Bharti Public School got 2nd and 3rd positions respectively.
Kuldeep Bhan I/C area pollution Control Board Samba deliberated upon the topic in detail. Anupama Koul of Green Alternatives presented detailed profile of the organization and assured the participants of full support and co-operation in similar programmes in future also.
