KATHUA, Feb 28: Amandeep Singh won the Chess title in open category while Mriganka Sangra won the title in women section in the Kathua District Chess Championship held at Government Middle School, Rajbagh here today.
Shivang Gupta won the silver medal while Karam Samyal won the bronze in open section. Prananjali Sharma won Silver in women section while Komal Devi won Bronze in women section.
In U-7 age category, Paras Sharma won Gold medal while Silver medal went to Nirbhay.
A total of 31 players participated in the event.
The Championship was held under the banner of J&K Sports Council and All J&K Chess Association.
Ravi Sharma, President Kathua District Chess Association supervised all the matches.
All the matches were conducted as per International rules of Chess with Swiss software.
