JAMMU, Nov 2: Chess Premier League, organised by District Chess Association, concluded at IDPS School Sunjwan, wherein Vivek Chess Academy team emerged as winner, here today.
The Vivek Chess Academy team, owned by Vivek Bharti scored 21 points out of 30, while its captain Soham Kamotra scored perfect 6 out of 6.
All the 20 players played six matches each and the winning team was declared on the basis of maximum clubbed scores by its players.
In this League, the players were picked through auction and paid by owners of four teams including Crazy Queens, owned by Atul Kumar Gupta, Kings and Knights, owned by Anil Abrol, White Knights, owned by Baldev Raj and Vivek Chess Academy, owned by Vivek Bharti.
Today’s matches were inaugurated by Atul Kumar Gupta, president All J&K Chess Association in presence of Baldev Raj, Anil Abrol and Vivek. This League was planned by Meenal Gupta, secretary of the District Chess Association.
