Chess Selection Tournament gets underway

JAMMU, May 5: State Selection Chess Tournaments for Jammu division got underway at ACE Chess Academy, Trikuta Nagar, here today.
The Tournament is being organized by the Jammu District Chess Association, under the banner of All J&K Chess Association in the age groups of Under-7,Under-9,Under-11 and Under-13 boys and girls.
Earlier, Atul Kumar Gupta, president, All J&K Chess Association and joint secretary, All India Chess Federation, alongwith Tej Choudhary, owner of ACE Chess Academy inaugurated the event in a simple function.
Baldev Raj, vice president and Taranvir Singh Gujral, coordinator were also present on the occasion.
Sumit Grover is the chief arbiter of this Tournament.
The events in Under-7 and Under-11 will be played on May 6, 2014 at same venue at 9.30 am.
One player from Jammu division and one from Kashmir division will represent J&K State in the forthcoming Nationals in different categories.
