JAMMU, Sept 17: Inter Collegiate Men and Women Chess Tourney of Cluster University of Jammu was organized by the Department of Students Welfare, CLUJ at Government MAM College, here today.
Prof Geetanjali A Rana Dean Faculty of Arts was the chief guest while Prof PK Sharma, Principal, Government MAM College was the guest of honour.
In men section, Government GGM Science College beat SPMR College of Commerce by 3-1 and Government MAM College got walkover against College of Education.
In women section, SPMR College of Commerce beat GCW Gandhi Nagar by 2.5 to 1.5 and GGM Science College got walkover and enters in final.
Tomorrow GGM Science College and Government MAM College will play final in men section and in women section GGM Science College and SPMR College of Commerce will fight to lift the trophy.
Prof Twinkle Suri, Dean Students Welfare, Dr Vinod Bakshi Sports Coordinator, CLUJ and Physical Director GGM Science College, Dr Banpreet Kour, Associate Dean Students Welfare, Malik Aijaz Physical Director SPMR College of Commerce, Roopali Salathia Physical Director GCW Gandhi Nagar, Prof Parshotam Singh, Prof Ishtaq, Neelam Assistant Physical Director Government MAM College, Anil Assistant Physical Director GCW Gandhi Nagar and Pawan Giri Assistant Physical Director GGM Science College were present on the occasion.
The matches were officiated under the supervision of Sushil Kumar.
