Chetan guides Atman to thrilling victory

JAMMU, Nov 7: Chetan Singh Chib guided Atman Sports Club to a thrilling 3-run win over Vishal Cricket Club to stay alive in the tournament, while JKP XI trounced ACC XI by a narrow of 15 runs to enter quarterfinals of the ongoing Eid-Diwali Milan T20 Cup Cricket Tournament, being organized by Jammu and Kashmir Police Department in collaboration with Simula Software at MA Stadium, here.
In the first match, JKP XI got better of ACC X1by 15 runs to seal berth in the quarterfinals. Winning the toss and batting first, JKP XI scored  145 runs in the stipulated 20 overs for the loss of 6 wickets. Skipper Rajesh Gill was the top scorer with 52 runs in 48 balls including 8 boundaries, while other opener Amit Sharma also hit well  made 30 runs in 30 balls with the help of 2 sixes  and 1 four. Naresh  contributed 32 runs in 24 balls with 3 fours. For ACC XI, Ajay, Madan and Sambyal took 2,1 and1 wicket respectively.
In reply, ACC XI could not chase the target and managed to score 130 runs  for 5 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs,  thus lost the match for 15 runs. Sunil Sambyal was the top scorer with 37 runs in  38 balls including 3 fours and 1 six , other two batsmen Babla and Anand contributed 32 & 18 runs to the total. For JKP XI, Rajesh Gill, Dilbag and Shamsher Singh shared 2,1 and1 wickets respectively. Rajesh Gill of JKP XI was adjudged man of the match for his brilliant performance.
In another match, Atman Club, riding on superb performance from Chetan Chib scripted a thrilling win over Vishal Cricket Club by just 3 runs.  Batting first, Atman Sports XI scored only 118 runs in the stipulated 20 overs for the loss of 5 wickets. Chetan  was the top scorer with 62 runs in 51 balls with 6 fours and 2 towering sixes, while Saleem and Narinder were the other batsmen who scored 17 and 13  runs respectively. For VCC, Bansi was the main bowler who took 3 wickets, while Kaka  took 2 wickets.
In reply, VCC bundled out for 115 runs in 18 overs, thus lost the match by 3 runs. Parveen Singh was the top scorer with 54 runs in 42 balls with 7 fours and 2 sixes, while Kaka and Ashu scored 28 and 22 runs to the total respectively. For Atman Club, Chetan, Sidhant and Baljit shared 2 wickets each. Chetan of Atman was declared man of the match for fabulous show.
The tournament  is being Organised by J&K Police & Simula Software, while Ishar Sports, Atman Sports , Simula Sports and JKP are the official sponsors. DIG Jammu JP Singh, SO to IGP, Jammu Ramesh Angral, Hilal Rather MD Simula Software  and Rajesh Dhar are the members of the organizing team while Former Ranji trophy player, Rajesh Gill is organizing secretary of the tournament, while the tournament is being held under the overall supervision of IGP, Jammu Dilbag Singh.
The today’ s matches  were officiated by Suhail, Harbinder Singh and JD Singh as umpires, while  Amit and Yogesh acted as scorers.
