Chetan guides Samar Club to register 4 wkts win over Shiva XI

JAMMU, Apr 18: All-round performance by Chetan Chib guided Samar Cricket Club to register 4 wickets win over Shiva XI Cricket Club and register berth in the next round of the ongoing Baisakhi Premier League T-20 Cricket Tournament, being organised by Diamond Cricket Club at Government Boys School, Simble Camp, here today.
Electing to bat first, after winning the toss, Shiva XI Cricket Club scored 152 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in allotted 20 overs. Pankaj played well and chipped in 85 runs including four boundaries and three lofty sixes, while Amit and Atish also scored 15 and 12 runs respectively.
For Samar Cricket Club side, Chetan Chib, Sidharth Magotra and Monu claimed 2 wickets each.
In the second inning, Samar Cricket Club chased the target in 19.3 overs by losing 7 wickets. Chetan Chib chipped in some splendid knocks and scored 65 runs with the help of six balls towards the fence and three over the fence. Monu, Michael and Sidharth Magotra also contributed 24, 15 and 14 runs respectively.
For Shiva XI Cricket Club side, Rathi was the wrecker-in-chief, who scalped 3 wickets, while Atish and Pankaj claimed 2 and one wicket respectively.
Chetan Chib of Samar Cricket Club was declared as man of the match for his all round performance.
The match was officiated by Kulbir and Harcharan Bablu as umpires, while Inderjeet maintained the scorecard.
The tournament is being organised under the supervision of GS Michael, Sports Secretary.
