MENDHAR, July 21: The dilapidated condition of Mankot -Chhajla Road in Mendhar Sub Division of district Poonch has left the road users and other vilagers suffering since long.
Locals complained that the road stretch from Chajjla Ward No 3 to Mankot has been lying in shambles. The road is dotted with potholes, which speaks volumes about the tall claims of the Government of improving road connectivity, the residents said.
They said that same is the condition of other roads in the area. The locals of Chhajla village, Sonu Choudhary, Gulam Murtaza, Shafi Chohan, Mustafa Choudhary and others said that the Border Road Organization (BRO) has failed to undertake even minor repair work on this vital road. They said that the concerned authorities have failed to macadamise Chajjla-Mankot village road. It is lying in dilapidated condition for the past several years. The water logging during rains has further added to the woes of road users.
The residents appealed the District Administration Poonch to come to their rescue by addressing their problem and providing them better road connectivity in the area at the earliest.
