JAMMU, Mar 19: Former Minister RS Chib has called upon the Congress workers to strengthen congress party in the forthcoming Parliamentary elections.
Addressing a meeting of Congress workers at Badyal Qazian in the Suchetgarh Block, Chib said that Congress party has a 125 year old golden history of leading the country to independence and also has the experience of keeping the whole country united.
Chib urged the Congressmen to whole heartedly work for the success of Jammu-Poonch Congress – NC candidate Madan Lal Sharma in the forthcoming elections. Terming Madan Lal as an experienced statesman Chib reiterated his services for the people of the State in various capacities. Urging the workers to negate the politics of religious fundamentalism Chib asked the workers to strengthen the secular forces in the State.
Chib also asked the workers to propagate the achievements of UPA 1 & UPA 2 among the masses especially MENREGA, border area Development Plan, Rajiv Gandhi Grameen Vidyutikaran Yojna, Rajiv Awas Yojna and many other successful schemes. He also called upon the Congressmen to highlight the implementation of the new Panchayati Raj resolution in the State which was the dream of late PM Rajiv Gandhi.
Other who spoke on the occasion included PHE, I&FC Minister Sham Lal Sharma, MLC BR Kundal, MLC GN Monga and other Congress leaders.
