JAMMU, Dec 23: The Minister for Technical Education, Youth Affairs and Sports, R.S. Chib, today awarded trophies to the winning team, Married Cricket Club and the runners team Speeding Saddles at a final match played at Bakshi Nagar Girls Higher Secondary School, Jammu today.The Sports Minister was the Chief Guest on the occasion.
The Christmas 2012 cricket tournament was organised by new hope Christian Union have been played between 32 cricket teams belonging to Jammu and Samba districts participated from last three months.
The final match was played between Married Cricket Club and Speeding Saddles,in which Married Cricket Club defeated the Speeding Saddles.
Earlier, after winning the toss the Marry Cricket Club elected to bat and put a target of 123 runs before the Speeding Saddles in 16 over.
On the occasion, the Minister said that Government is very much committed to provide best possible sports facilities to the youth, so that they may compete at national and international level. He said that sports activities are also necessary for youth for their healthy mind like other sectors education and others.
MLA, Prof Chaman Lal Gupta and Anil Gupta and others local leaders were present on the occasion.
