Chib flags off Mughal Road Trekking Expedition

SRINAGAR, Sept 10: Minister for Youth Services and Sports, RS Chib flagged off maiden Mughal Road Trekking Expedition organized by Government College of Physical Education, Ganderbal, from Directorate of Youth Services and Sports Srinagar here today.
A 50 members team including 20 female trekkers from Government College of Physical Education, Ganderbal started trekking expedition from Shopain via Peer ki Gali, Nandan Sar and Chandan Sar and will conclude at Shahdra Sharief.
Chib said Government has taken various initiatives to promote the sports sector and encourage players to participation at national and international level. He said physical education is very important for over all development of the youth and needs to be given more attention.
He said that Government has spent about Rs 35 crore for the new Physical Education College at Gadoora, Ganderbal which will be equipped with all latest facilities.
Chib suggested YSS Department to monitor the whole camp and watch every team member and put their performance on record and one who excels and tops the group would be given leadership awards.
He said that said trekking camp especially through the route historic Mughal Road route will certainly forward good message with regard to tourism industry and will attract more tourists towards our State.
Among others present were Director Youth Services and Sports JP Singh, Principal Government College of Physical Education, Ganderbal, Dr Hartej Singh, Joint Director DYSS, Madan Lal, officers and participants.
