Chilli futures rise 0.79 per cent as demand picks up

NEW DELHI, Apr 29: Chilli prices rose by 0.79 per cent to Rs 10,166 per quintal in futures trade today as speculators created fresh positions on pick-up in demand in the spot market.
At the National Commodity and Derivative Exchange, chilli teja for delivery in June rose by Rs 80, or 0.79 per cent to Rs 10,166 per quintal with an open interest of 1,575 lots.
Market analysts said fresh positions built-up by speculators after demand picked up the spot market against restricted arrivals from producing regions mainly led to rise in chilli teja prices at futures trade. (PTI)
