JAMMU: May 30: Chinar Art Foundation, Jammu’, engaged in preserving as well as promoting art, culture, languages besides traditional and folk music of all three regions of erstwhile State of J&K gave a theatrical presentation at ‘Abinav Theatre’ here, today.
A Kashmiri stage play titled ‘Zahar’, showcasing the essence of mutual relationship and coexistence between the various sections of the civil society especially the marital relationships, was witnessed by a galaxy of theatre lovers in the jam packed auditorium. Proficiently translated into Kashmiri language by Rajesh Handoo, the play has been originally written by Pankaj Soni, a well known playwright. Directed by Sachin Dhar, a renowned film and theatre Director, the cast of the play included ace theatre actors Manoj Bhat ( as ShambhooNath) and Puneet. J. Bali ( as a rich businessman ) besides the writer of the play Rajesh Handoo ( as a customer ) who were lauded for their outstanding Act.
The set was beautifully managed by VirenderSumbly to portray the experimental thought of the director whereas RituMehra designed the costumes. Make up was handled by Manoj Bhat and Puneet. J. Bali. Tushar Mehra arranged the properties on the set. Rajesh Khar enriched the play with his contribution in music and Dilshad Shazi operated the lights.
Ritu Mehra and Manoj Bhat aptly assisted in Direction. President of the Chinar Art Foundation, KusumDhar, a renowned TV and theatre artist overviewed the entire arrangements for making the play a success.
The play was a part of ” Spring Theatre Festival” organised by the J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages ( JKAACL ), Jammu which works with the same motive of preserving the ages old rich culture, language and music of J&K UT, like Chinar Art Foundation, Jammu.
