JAMMU, Mar 11: Chinar Cricket Club defeated PNB XI in an easy contest by 8 wickets in the ongoing cricket tournament at KC Sports Club under ‘Fit J&K Union Territory Movement’ at the Indoor Cricket facility, here today.
Earlier, Chinar Cricket Club won the toss and put PNB XI into bat.
Batting first, PNB XI scored a modest total of 32 runs in the stipulated 10 overs. Mandeep top scored with 13 runs, while Nitin Singh contributed 10 runs to the total. From Chinar Cricket Club, Ramandeep took 3 wickets, while Tarun claimed 2 wickets. In reply, Chinar CC chased the target in 7.2 overs by losing 2 wickets, thus won the match by 8 wickets. Ajay and Tarun contributed 14 and 12 runs to the total respectively. From PNB XI, Narinder took 1 wicket.
The second match was played between Sharika Cricket Club and Media XI.
Sharika CC won the toss and opted to bat first.
Batting first, Sharika CC scored 38 runs in the allotted 10 overs. Rishu and Mukul scored 15 and 13 runs respectively. From Media XI, Sachin took 3 important wickets.
In reply, Media XI managed to score 33 runs, thus lost the match by a narrow margin of 5 runs. Vivek Suri and Akshay made 12 and 9 runs respectively. From Sharika Club, Rishu took 3 wickets, while Sumit and Mukul bagged 2 wickets each.
