Chitra scores massive 769 runs this season

*Consistency makes her contender for ‘Team India’ cut

JAMMU, Jan 19: Talented top-order batter and medium pace bowler, Chitra Singh Jamwal of Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA) has scored massive 769 runs in 20 matches she played so far in the season including U-23 T20 and Senior Women’s T20 and Senior Women’s One-Day Trophies, besides taking 20 wickets with her military medium stuff.
All set to represent North Zone in the forthcoming Senior Women’s Zonal One-Day Trophy, Chitra’s consistency in all formats of the game has made her as the top contender for ‘Team India’ cut.
After emerging top run-getter for J&K with 148 runs and 9 wickets in the Senior Women’s T20 Tournament this season, Chitra emerged as the top run scorer in the country in the league phase of the prestigious Women’s U-23 T20 Trophy with 294 runs apart from 8 wickets and again remained top scorer for J&K and fifth in the country in the league phase of the recently concluded Senior Women’s One-Day Trophy with 327 runs in six innings’ besides 3 wickets.
With a healthy average of around 100 runs and an impressive strike rate, promising Chitra has scored three half-centuries with unbeaten 68* as her top score, apart from unconquered 48*, 45 and 22* runs in the other three innings’ of U-23 Women’s T20 Trophy, besides smashing two centuries and two half-centuries in Senior Women’s One-Day Trophy and four times 30 plus scores in Senior Women’s T20 Trophy.
Chitra smashed 83 fours and 3 sixes in these tournaments, portraying picture of the impact she puts on the game.
“I accredit my success to the facilities being provided by the JKCA, besides sheer-dint of hardwork by my Coaches and my parents,” maintained Chitra.
