Chitra surpasses 1000 runs in Senior Women’s domestic Cricket

JAMMU, Dec 25: J&K’s talented batting all-rounder, Chitra Singh Jamwal, has achieved a remarkable milestone by surpassing 1000 runs in 35 innings of Senior Women one day cricket career. This feat was accomplished by her after scoring 31 runs against Andhra Pradesh before the historic quarter-final match against Madhya Pradesh.
Representing Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA), Chitra has now scored 1097 runs in 36 innings, maintaining an impressive average of 39. Her career includes three centuries and six half-centuries in the BCCI’s Domestic One-Day Tournament. In her last 14 innings, she has accumulated 597 runs at an outstanding average of 68.
Chitra, who made her debut in the Senior Women’s One-Day Trophy at the age of 12, holds the distinction of being the first woman cricketer from J&K to score a century on the national stage. She was also selected for the prestigious Women’s Fast Bowling Camp at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru in September 2024.
