Chitrakshi, Bhaavan, Sahar, Akshita sparkle in Light Singing on day-2

JAMMU, Dec 18: Chitrakshi Metha, Bhaavan Dubey, Sahar  Rohmetra  and Akshita Mengi were among other contestants who blossomed on  2nd day of Pandit Uma Dutt Sharma Sangeet Mahotsav, which  is going on at Auditorium, Government Polytechnic College, Bikram Chowk, here today.
While Sahar and Akshita of Strings bagged second spot in 11-14 years girls light singing contest, the first place in this competition was shared by Chitrakshi Metha and Bhaavan Dubey of Sharda in light
On the occasion, Classical as well as light singing competition was organized in which musicians and singers of different ages took part.
KL Verma, Retd HoD, Fine Arts College and Puran Singh Wazir, noted instrumentalist was the jury member.
75 participants from different areas of Jammu region took part and expressed their talent. Students of Strings, Aarohi Kala Sangeet Vidyalaya, Sharda Sangeet Sadan, Saraswati Sangeet Kala Mandir, Music Culture, Saptak Music institute, Heritage Strings, Symphony Guitar Institute and Jodhamal Public School took part in the competition.
The organizing committee included Pt Shiv Kumar Sharma, patron-in-chief, Narinder Singh, Ex-Mayor, State Awardee Praduman Singh Jindrahia, Suresh Sharma, Varinder Raina, Deepak Sharma, Ashutosh Dubey, Naresh Kumar Sharma, Sumit Sharma Cultural head, Neeraj Sharma, Meenakshi Sharma, Nishant Vaid, Prince Nagotra, Paramjeet Kour, Anu Kumari, Neha Verma, Kuldeep Kumar, Amit Sharma, Vikas Bawa, Deepak Kumar, Subhash Dey and Anmol Amla.
In Light Instrumental, 10 years, Shivanshu Tripathy bagged first prize in Sharda Sangeet Sadan, while Yajur Mahajan clinched second and Riddham Masson claimed third prize. In 11-14, Arya Sharma (MC) and Arnav Puri (SSKM) got first prize, whereas in group B, Ojas Masson (SSKM) got first prize. In 15-18 years Paras Arora (Aarohi) got first prize, Rohan Thakur (Sharda) received second prize. In 19-22 years, Nipun Kholi (Heritage Strings) and Vidushi Gupta (SSKM) received first prize. In above 23 boys, Rohit Avasthi claimed first prize.
In Light Singing up to 10 years, Kunwar (Aarohi) and Ishita Gupta (Sharda) received first prize.
In Classical Singing upto 10 yrs Kunwar (Aarohi) received first prize, whereas in 11-14 years, KR Shantanu (Saptak) and Aryan Salgotra bagged first prize. In 15-18 years group Ojasvi (Sharda) claimed first prize while Bhavya Jain (Sharda) got second prize. In 19-22 age group, Sunil Kumar (Saptak) emerged winner.
In Classical Instrumental, Mithlesh Wanchoo got first position and second place was bagged by Arush Gupta.
In Light Singing 11-14 years, Bhavaan Dubey (Sharda) and Chitrakshi Mehta (Sharda) secured first position, whereas the second position was claimed by Akshita Mengi (Strings) and Sehar Rohmetra (Strings). In Group B, Divarshi Sharma (Sharda) and Anikait Hashia (SSKM) got first prize, while Nandini Katyal (SSKM) claimed second position. In 15-18 years, Anmol Sharma (Aarohi) claimed first position, whereas second and third positions were secured by Sumeet Anand (HS) and Moomin Zargar (SSKM). In 19-22 years, Urvashi Sharma (Music Culture) emerged winner. In Group B, Akhil Sharma (SSKM) and Ankita Aggarwal (MC) bagged first and second positions respectively. In 23 above, Azad Fangotra (Saptak) and Amit Bhawara (Aarohi) emerged winners.
In Duet Song upto 10 years, Aadit and Kusha (Dey Sir) claimed first positions. In Duet Instrumental upto 10 years, Anana and Atharava emerged winners, whereas in 15-18 years, Kanikat and Sumit (SSKM) claimed title.
In Group Song, Music Culture Group claimed the title trophy.
