JAMMU, Feb  20: Choi Kwang Do Association of J&K, affiliate unit of Choi Kwang Do Federation of India held its meeting under the Chairmanship of IGP Dr Ashok Gupta its chairman, with Bikram Singh Thappa, general secretary of Choi Kwang Do Federation of India as the Observer and elected new office bearers at Rotary Club, Gandhi Nagar, here today.
Dr. Dushyant Choudhary was elected as president of the Association, while S. Jatinder Singh Gandhok was elected as Sr. vice president and Dr Amit Vaid and Ganesh Gupta as vice presidents.
Naresh Chander was elected general secretary, while Sankalp Kamal and Mukesh Gupta as joint secretaries. Aruna Sharma is the treasurer, while Brijesh Bhau is the member cum chief technical director.
Amandeep Singh and Rahul Bhakri were named members of the Association.
The election meeting was attended by the representatives of various Districts Choi Kwang Do Associations which included Dr Sourav Katoch, president and Gopal Dass, gen. secretary of Samba District Choi Kwang Do Association Shakti Kumar, president and Ravi Kumar, general secretary of Kathua District Choi Kwang Do Association; Rohit Kumar Bhat, president and Deepak Singh, general secretary of Ramban District Choi Kwang Do Association; R L Kotwal, president and Aaftab, general secretary of Udhampur District Choi Kwang Do Association and Bhawna Sadhotra, president and Shashi Janotra, general secretary of Jammu District Choi Kwang Do Association.
Speaking on the occasion, Bikram Singh Thappa said that the Choi Kwang Do Martial Art is the safest Martial Art as its emphasis is on self defence training without much injuries.
Naresh Chande appealed Schools and Colleges to include the Choi Kwang Do in their institutions to provide opportunity to students to participate in National events.
