JAMMU, July 23: Inter School District Level competitions of District Jammu in the sports disciplines of Choi Kwang-do Under-17 and Under-19 years girls got underway at Stephen Public School and Indoor Complex, MA Stadium, here today.
In all, 64 girls drawn across from 14 Zones of Jammu District are taking part in the competitions.
District Youth Services and Sports Officer (DYSSO), Jammu, Chanchal Kour is the Organising Secretary of the Tournament.
The objective of the competitions is to select the teams of District Jammu for Inter-District competitions.
In Choi Kwang-do Under-17 (Girls) at Stephen Public School Miran Sahib, the gold medals in various weight categories went to Priya Sharma of GHS Mujwa, Anamika Sharma of GHS Mujwa, Sumiti Sharma of GHS Mujwa and Shaarvi Magzine of Jodhamal Public School, while the silver medals wen to Taskeen Malik of JK Police Public School, Miran Sahib, Sheetal Thapa of JK Police Public School, Miran Sahib, Manat Mahajan of APS Ratnu Chak, Sonia Sharma of GHS Mujwa and Khayati Khajuria of APS Ratnu Chak.
The matches were officiated by the panel of experts of the Department of Youth Services and Sports.
Meanwhile, the Inter-School District Level tournament of District Kathua for Under-19 boys and girls began at Sports Stadium Kathua under the supervision of District Youth Services and Sports Officer Kathua, Subash Chander Bhardwaj.
The tournament was inaugurated by ADC (Revenue) Kathua, Jitender Mishra in the presence of Principal Govt HSS Kewal Singh. He declared open the competitions of Karate.
Moreover, the trials for Hockey and the competitions for Table Tennis were held at Sports Stadium Hira Nagar and DAV Lachhipur respectively.
A total of 70 players of various schools of district participated in the event.
