Chopper service to Vaishno Devi suspended due to bad weather

JAMMU :  Inclement weather has led to suspension of the chopper service to Vaishno Devi shrine resulting in hardships to passengers stranded en-route, sources said today.
‘The helicopter service from Katra base camp to Sanjhi Chat remained suspended for the fifth consecutive day due to fog and rains,’ an official here said.
‘In the month of July, only a few flights took off from base camp to Sanjhi Chat,’ he said, adding that the companies are facing losses worth lakhs of rupees a day due to suspended services.
Pawan Hans and Global Victra are operating to ferry passengers from Katra to Sanjhi Chat.
