Choudhary XI, Aircel XI scrip victories; enter next stage

JAMMU, Jan 10: Choudhary XI and Aircel XI scripted victories in their respective matches and entered in the next stage of the ongoing JKP New Year Veteran T20 Cup at Parade cricket ground, here today.
In the first match of the day, Choudhary XI defeated Sr Advocates XI by a close margin of 15 runs.
Batting first, Choudhary XI scored 144 runs in stipulated 17 overs for loss of all wickets. Vinay was top scorer with 46 runs, whereas Hardeep Singh made 25 runs and Nasir contributed 16 runs.
For Sr Advocates side, Guru Partap and Pravesh took 3 wickets each, whereas Sanjay claimed 2 wickets and Ravi pocketed 1 wicket.
Sr Advocates XI in reply could not achieve the target and scored 129 runs for 8 wickets thus lost the match by 15 runs. Guru Partap made 67 runs and Ravi scored 14 runs.
Narinder Singh of Choudhary XI was declared as man of the match.
In the second match, Aircel XI scripted a comfortable win over Atman Sports XI by 8 wickets.
Batting first, Atman Sports XI made 171 runs in 18 overs for the loss of 3 wickets. Mushtaq Ahmad scored 73 runs and Zahoor made 41 runs.
For Aircel XI side, Surjeet took 2 wickets while Sunil claimed 1 wicket.
In reply, Aircel XI chased the target in 14 overs for the loss of just 2 wickets. Anand Tripatti made 65, Sahil scored 41 runs and Riaz contributed with 31 runs.
For Atman Sports XI side, Danish and Imtiaz shared 1 wicket each.
Anand Tripatti of Aircel XI was adjudged as man of the match.
The matches were officiated by Suhail Yusuf, Sanju, and Vinod.
Deputy Director Prosecution Range Police Headquarters Parshotam Sharma was the chief guest in today’s matches and senior Advocate Suresh Sharma was the guest of honour.
The tournament is being organized jointly by Range Police Headquarters and Parade Sports Association and sponsored by Aircel and JKP.
