JAMMU, Sept 25: BJP National General Secretary Tarun Chugh today condemned AICC leader Rahul Gandhi for what he described as misleading claims regarding the restoration of Statehood to Jammu and Kashmir.
Speaking to party workers, Chugh labelled Gandhi’s narrative a “canard” and criticized his lack of understanding of the region’s issues.
Chugh emphasized that the BJP is committed to restoring J&K’s Statehood, but he expressed disbelief at Gandhi’s focus on the topic, suggesting it stems from a lack of vision for the State’s growth and development.
“Rahul Gandhi visits J&K like a dreamland boy, failing to connect with the grassroots problems of the people,” Chugh stated.
He also urged Gandhi to acknowledge historical mistakes made by former Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru and condemned the Congress party’s alliances with elements he associated with Pakistan.
Chugh accused Gandhi of aligning himself with the Abdullah family and acting as a mouthpiece for external interests rather than genuinely addressing the concerns of J&K’s youth and women.
Chugh praised the Modi Government’s efforts to transform J&K into a tourist capital, asserting that the previous Congress-led administrations had turned the region into a “terrorist bastion.”
