CIFA holds meet

JAMMU, Mar 27: Consortium of Indian Farmers Association (CIFA) held executive committee meeting under the chairmanship of its national advisor and members of All India Executive Committee of CIFA Randhir Singh.
While speaking, Singh said that CIFA first time brought farmers under organised sector throughout the country, so that they can fight for their right with the central and local Governments.
Singh said that 25 per cent farmers of the world are in India, which means every fourth farmer in the world is in India.
CIFA demands separate union agriculture budget under Ministry of agriculture, irrigation, fertilizers, commerce. NABARD be constituted and the reservation policy itself requires modification such as making it one time.
He said that it is observed that the farmers’ children are not able to compete with the urban and organised sectors in terms of getting admission in professional colleges and also in jobs and advocated for reservation to farmers children.
