CISF Constable summits Mount Yunam Peak

KATHUA, Aug 21: Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) constable, Suman Verma, a resident of Kadetar in Dinga Amb tehsil of Kathua district claimed to be the first girl of the area who conquered the 6111 meter high Mount Yunam peak and unfurled the tricolor on August 15.
Suman claimed that she established first base camp at Bharatpur on 13 August and started climbing Mount Yunam at midnight of 15-August and unfurled the national flag at 6:24 am. The peak is one of the highest peaks of the Himalayas.
Although the weather was not favorable at all, the recorded temperature at that time was -5° to -7°c. Even the drinking water was frozen, but there was a spirit of patriotism inside Suman Verma that she hoisted the tricolor on peaks.
Verma claimed that she currently serves as a constable in the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) at Srinagar Airport. She aspires to replicate her achievements by conquering the highest peaks and ultimately bringing pride to her village, district, CISF, and the nation. Her upcoming endeavor is to conquer the Southern region. Africa is set to conquer the highest summits in Russia.
