City Club Udhampur wins Volleyball Tournament

UDHAMPUR, Jan 21: As part of community policing initiative under Civic Action Programme (CAP) of Jammu and Kashmir Police, a Volleyball Tournament which was organised at Udhampur from January 16, 2014, was formally declared closed today by Mohd Suleman Choudhary, SSP Udhampur.
9 teams from different parts of the District Udhampur participated in the Tournament.
Speaking on this occasion, SSP lavished praise for the organising in holding this event. He said that District Police Udhampur would organise similar events/tournaments for local youth of different parts of district Udhampur, which would certainly facilitate bridging the gap between Police and Public.
The organisers included DYSSO, Udhampur, Sukhdev Singh, president Udhampur District Volleyball Association, Raj Guru and Secretary, Bhushan Sethi.
The final match was played between the teams of City Volleyball Club Udhampur and Govt Degree College (Boys) Udhampur which was won by City Volleyball Club Udhampur with straight 3 sets.
A cash prize of Rs 5000 was given to the winning team by SSP Udhampur and Rs 3000 to the runner-up team alongwith trophies.
The match was officiated by Ashok Kumar, Kuldeep Shamra, Sanjay Sharma and Sushil Kumar.
Prominent among others present on the occasion were Ramanand Baria, Parveen Singh Slathia, Neelam Nargotra, Vikram Slathia and Khalil Ahmed Poswal.
