Clay Modeling Art Competition held

JAMMU, Dec 5: Viraj Kala Kendra (VKK) organized a Clay Modeling Art Competition for school children in connection with the week long celebration of birth anniversary of Late VR Khajuria, an eminent Sculptor of the State.
On the occasion, Dr Hemla Aggarwal, Principal, Government College for Women, Parade was the chief guest, while, ID Soni, Commissioner, Bharat Scouts and Guides, and Savita Bakshi were the guests of honours.
Raj Bharti, president, VKK, presented the welcome address and highlighted the works done by the Kendra in the past.
ID Soni emphasized on the view that the importance of taking interest and participating in such activities play a vital role in the development of the child’s personality.
Savita Bakshi in her speech said that cultural academy is under a process to bring a publication of monograph of VR Khajuria.
Dr Hemla Aggarwal in her address said that such kind of events will prove beneficial for the students in future.
In the competition (juniors group), Parul Sharma, Aditya Singh and Sanya Sharma emerged winners. The consolation prizes were conferred to Maseena and Diljit Kour.
In senior group, Seema Mahajan, Nagma and Sunny claimed first, second and third positions respectively. The consolation prizes were bagged by Mayuri Sharma and Sohani.
The jury members were Bishambar Mehta, Arvind Gupta and JS Verma, who adjudged the works created by the participants.
At the end, Susham presented vote of thanks.
