Clinical J&K thrashes Tripura by 9 wkts

JAMMU, Feb 14: Riding on a terrific bowling display by all the bowlers, especially the left-arm spinners, coupled with good show with the willow by skipper Kanhaiya Wadhawan, promising Kaval Preet Singh and young Dhruv Sharma, clinical Jammu and Kashmir thrashed Tripura by 9 wickets to end their campaign on a positive note in the ongoing U-25 CK Nayudu Trophy at MBB Stadium, Agartala today.
Earlier, chasing a paltry total of 48 runs, J&K completed the formality in 11.2 overs by losing one wicket, thus won the match by 9 wickets. Arya Thakur (28*) and Shubham Singh Pundir (18*) were the main contributors, while young Dhruv Sharma was the only man to be dismissed for 4 runs.
Left-arm spinners- Vishal Kumar (9 wkts in the match) and Taizeem Younis Tak (7 wkts in the match) and middle-order batters namely Kanhaiya Wadhawan (57), Kaval Preet Singh (58) and Dhruv Sharma were the star performers for J&K.
The team is being accompanied by Sarabjeet Singh as Head Coach, Hilal Ahmad Zargar as Manager, Vivek Khajuria as Co-Manager, Kavaljeet Singh as Batting Coach, Sameer Ali as Bowling Coach, Guru Partap Singh as Trainer, Sahil Sharma as Video Analyst, Jitender as Physiotherapist and Arun as Masseur.
