JAMMU, June 13: Riding on a superb all-round show by Praful Dhar, 5-wicket haul by Abhinav Khajuria and magnificent 50 by Ridham Mahajan, Rainawari Cricket Club (RCC) Srinagar registered a clinical victory over RN Chopra Cricket Academy (RNCCA) to seal berth in the finals of the 1st Summer Cup Endurance 50-Over U-16 Boys Cricket Tournament, being organized by Country Cricket Academy at Ghrota , near here.
Winning the toss and batting first, RN Chopra Cricket Academy scored a decent total of 192 runs in 42 overs. Udhay Pratap was the top scorer with 58 runs off 74 balls, studded with 7 boundaries, Harsh Gupta contributed 45 off 50 balls including 7 fours, while Harsh, Ayush Andotra, Anish, Shivansh and Jatin chipped in with 25, 10, 9 and 8 runs respectively. For RCC Srinagar, left-arm spinner Abhinav Khajuria took 5 wickets in his 10 overs by giving away 50 runs, while right-arm off-spinner Praful Dhar bagged 3 wickets by conceding 41 runs in 9.1 overs. Sachin Sharma claimed one wicket.
In reply, RCC Srinagar chased the target in 33.2 overs by losing 6 wickets, thus won the match by 4 wickets. Ridham Mahajan was the top scorer with 50 runs off 37 balls, studded with 4 fours and one six, while Dikshant scored 31 off 38 balls with the help of 4 boundaries. Musaif Ajaz contributed 23 off 20 balls with 4 boundaries, while Sachin chipped in with 14 runs. However, it was Praful Dhar and Aditpal Singh, who held their nerves at the crucial juncture to take their side to home. Praful scored valuable (27 not out) off 37 balls with 3 brilliant boundaries, while Aditpal contributed unbeaten 15 off 17 balls with the help of 2 fours.
From RNCCA, Umar Sadiq, Udhay Pratap and Shreeya bagged 2 wickets each.
Now RCC Srinagar will face Kishan Chand Cricket Club (KCCC) in the finals.
Vivek Sharma, former Ranji Trophy Player and Ranji Trophy Selector JKCA witnessed the match and praised the cricketers for braving out in the sweltering heat of June.
