JAMMU, Apr 10: Students of Cluster University of Jammu (CLUJ) have brought laurels to the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir by securing the 5th position out of 27 universities at the 3rd All India University National Women Student Parliament, held at Centurion University of Technology and Management, Odisha.
Representing the university, Aakrida Mahajan, Ridham and Aayushvi Sharma showcased exceptional debating skills and leadership abilities at the national forum, making it to the semi-finals amidst intense competition from across the country.
The event was inaugurated by Dr. Hari Babu Kambhampati, Governor of Odisha, and witnessed participation from over 100 student leaders representing institutions such as Chandigarh University, Manipur University, and Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Open University.
The CLUJ team was mentored by Dr. Shubhra Jamwal, Assistant Dean, DSW, and led by Dr. Raj Shree Dhar, Dean Student Welfare, whose support played a pivotal role in the team’s success.
Vice-Chancellor Prof. K.S. Chandershekhar praised the students, stating, “Their performance reflects the intellectual strength, confidence, and determination of our youth.” Dr. Raj Shree Dhar added, “This achievement showcased the talent, rigorous training, and commitment of our students and faculty.”
Participants engaged in debates on key national topics such as One Nation One Election, the Telecommunication Bill, and the Uniform Civil Code (UCC). The team, along with Dr. Shubhra Jamwal, was felicitated with mementos and certificates, and the event concluded with a grand cultural night celebrating India’s folk traditions.
