JAMMU, Mar 1: Cluster University of Jammu today celebrated its 7th Foundation Day by organizing an impressive function.
Prof Umesh Rai, Vice-Chancellor, University of Jammu, was the chief guest on the occasion. He talked of the importance of maintaining the quality in the University keeping its vision and mission in mind and impeding challenges that NEP 2020 poses emphasising the significance and relevance of skill and innovation courses.
Prof Bechan Lal, the Vice-Chancellor of Cluster University of Jammu, emphasized the illustrious history of the University and its continuous pursuit of setting new standards in education. He informed that land near Samba has been allotted for the establishment of Cluster University of Jammu, which heralds a historic landmark in the university’s journey towards academic excellence and holistic development of the region.
The distinguished guests included Prof Anju Bhasin, founder VC of Cluster University of Jammu; Dr Ravi Shankar, Special Secretary, HED; Dr Yasmeen Ashai, Director Colleges; Dr Jatinder Khajuria, Registrar Cluster University of Jammu; Dr Poonam Dhawan, former Dean Academic Affairs, Deans of the Schools; Principals of the Constituent Colleges, Director Placement Cell, Associate Deans (SW), Assistant Deans (SW), Cultural Coordinator, Cultural Conveners, Teachers, non-teaching staff, Student Council members and students of the schools and constituent colleges.
The highlights of the event were Kashmiri Group Dance, Western Solo Song by Vaneet Raina (ranked fifth in North Zone), Bhaderwahi Dance, Kawali performance, folk dance Jagrana and One Act Play, that mesmerised and captivated the attention of the audience. A documentary presentation showcased pictorially, the various small and key moments in the development of the University so far. Achievement awards for outstanding contribution in the category of Sports, Cultural and NCC were awarded to students to recognise their efforts and contributions. The programme was conducted by Prof Sugandha Mahajan whereas a vote of thanks was presented by Dr Ranvijay Singh, Dean Students Welfare, CLUJ.
