Cluster University student brings laurels in Int’l event

JAMMU, July 26: Sumit Thakyal, a student of Cluster University of Jammu has brought laurels by winning two Gold medals in an International event held at Dubai.
The statement said that he also broke the world record in the 52 kilogram category in Dead Lift event by lifting 170 kilogram weight. The previous world record was 145 kilogram in the name of Nick Hartmann of (US-PA), 2013.
Sumit Thakyal won two Gold medals (1 in Dead Lift and 1 in Bench Press events) in the International Bench Press, Deadlift, Push/Pull and Strict Curl Championship held at Dubai, recently.
Vice-Chancellor, Cluster University of Jammu, Prof. Bechan Lal along with Dr. Jatinder Khajuria, Registrar, Cluster University of Jammu, Prof. Ranvijay Singh, Dean Student’s Welfare CLUJ, Dr. Vinod Bakshi, Sports Coordinator Cluster University of Jammu and Physical Director GGM Science College,  Aijaz Malik, Physical Director, Government SPMR College of Commerce, Dr. Roopali Slathia, Physical Director GCW, Gandhi Nagar Jammu and Ramandeep Kralia, Physical Director, Government College of Education has appreciated him for his achievement and honoured him with shawl.
