CM, DyCM welcome budget proposals

JAMMU, Jan 11: Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti has welcomed the Budget 2017-18 presented in both Houses of State Legislature today.
The Chief Minister said many of the social interventions, including relief to horticulture, agriculture, transport and allied sectors have been aimed to settle some of the chronic issues which have assumed a huge social magnitude in the State.
She said taking cognizance of the frequent delays in disbursement of salaries to the employees engaged under various centrally sponsored schemes, the Government, through this budget, has decided to delink their salaries with the source of funding of these schemes, thus ensuring timely and periodic release of salaries in favour of such employees.
The Chief Minister hoped the pre-ponement of the funds released would facilitate timely execution of development works in the State which often get delayed due to late releases.
The Deputy Chief Minister called the budget an extraordinary effort to uplift the socio-economic profile of the State and for larger good of every section of the society. He said many of the social interventions, including relief to horticulture, agriculture, transport and allied sectors have been aimed to settle some of the chronic issues which have assumed a huge social magnitude in the State.
Dr Singh further said that the Government is keen and committed for addressing all the issues of the employees including the disbursement of salaries to the employees engaged under various centrally sponsored schemes.  He said the Government, through this budget, has decided to delink their salaries with the source of funding of these schemes, thus ensuring timely and periodic release of salaries in favor of employees.
He hoped that with the introduction of the revolutionary fiscal management measures, many grey areas in the governance would be addressed and it would also facilitate timely execution of development works being undertaken in various sectors across the State.
