College teachers apprise JU VC of demands

JAMMU, Mar 21: A delegation of J&K College Teachers Association, Jammu Wing, called on Jammu University Vice-Chancellor Prof M P S Ishar and discussed with him various demands of the cadre.
The delegation, headed by Dr Avinash Kumar Gupta, demanded that the university should, as per past practice, allow an evaluator to evaluate a maximum of 25 scripts in a day, thus removing the disparity between the evaluators from Jammu city and from outside city limits and give the necessary directions to the concerned accounts section to process the bills accordingly.
The demand was accepted by the Vice-Chancellor who said that if the evaluator desires, he could evaluate up to 30/40 scripts in a day, claimed a press release issued by the CTA.
Other issues deliberated during the meeting, included; revision of rates for the conduct of theory & practical examinations, extending the benefit of exemption of entrance test for Ph D work to Librarians and PTIs in line with the teaching faculty, one semester Ph.D course work, reservation of seats for wards of College Teachers in PG admission, on time payment of dues to OC/RC participants & speedy clearance of conduct/evaluation bills.
Prof Ishar assured redressal of these issues also on priority.
