Combined Club Bhaderwah enters finals of Gufran T20

DODA, June 15: Superb performances from Khalid, Ram Dayal and Parvez Rasool helped Combined Cricket Club Bhaderwah to thrash Bhalessa Cricket Club and seal berth in the finals of the ongoing All India 8th Gufran Memorial T20 Cricket Tournament, being organized by Young Star Cricket Club Doda at Sports Stadium, here.
Chasing a modest total of 120 runs, Combined Club Bhaderwah after losing the three wickets before surpassing the 50-run mark, sailed on a fabulous partnership of 70 odd runs between first class cricketers Ram Dayal Punia and Parvez Rasool Zargar and crossed the required figure in 17.2 overs, losing 3 wickets in the process to win the match by 7 wickets. Ram Dayal contributed unbeaten 41 runs off 30 balls, which included 5 fours and one six, while Parvez scored unbeaten 38 off 40 balls with the help of 5 boundaries. Arshid and Shafqat Baba claimed one wicket each for Bhalessa Club.
Earlier, electing to bat first after winning the toss, Bhalessa Cricket Club scored a modest total of 119 runs in 17.1 overs. Shahbaz was the top scorer with 25 runs including 3 boundaries, while Muddasir contributed 18 runs with the help of 2 fours and one six. Khalid was the pick of the bowlers for Combined Cricket Club Bhaderwah, who scalped 3 wickets by conceding 17 runs in his 3 overs, while Touqeer took 2 and Parvez Rasool one. Khalid of Combined Club Bhaderwah was adjudged man of the match for good bowling performance.
Meanwhile, in the quarterfinal match, Kingfisher Cricket Club, Jammu drubbed Doda Sports Club by 36 runs in a high scoring game.
Batting first, Kingfisher Club, sailing on a magnificent half-century by Manish Dogra and a good knock by Ashu Kumar scored a decent total of 177 runs in the stipulated 20 overs, losing 9 wickets in the process. Manish scored quick-fire 56 runs off just 30 balls, which included 5 boundaries and 3 massive sixes, while Ashu contributed 39 runs with the help of 4 fours and one six. Noushair Bhat was the chief wrecker for Doda Sports Club, scalping 5 important wickets by conceding 22 runs in his four overs, while Fazal Tak and Nasir Dev claimed one wicket apiece.
Doda Sports Club, in reply, bundled out for 141 runs in 18.4 overs, thus lost the match by 36 runs. Kartik was the top scorer with 25-ball 33 runs, which included 2 fours and 3 sixes, while Muzamil Tak contributed 23 runs to the total, hitting 2 fours and two sixes. For Kingfisher Jammu, Rohit and Parveen Singh captured 3 wickets each, while Manish claimed one wicket. For his brilliant innings, Manish Dogra was adjudged man of the match. Tanvir Wani, Senior Lecturer in Physics was chief guest on the occasion.
The matches were officiated by Sanjay Singh and Subhash Mathur as umpires, while Shahid Bashir Pampoori was the scorer.
