Commission did injustice to Rajouri Distt: Cong

JAMMU, Mar 15: Senior Congress leaders of Rajouri have expressed serious concern over the denial of due share to district in the allocation of seats apart from dissection of assembly constituencies.
Expressing dismay over the treatment to the district, PCC chief spokesperson Ravinder Sharma, former MLA and National coordinator Vichar Vibhag  Ashok Sharma, district president and former minister Shabir Ahmed Khan questioned why Rajouri district has less assembly seats than Kathua when it has more population and area as compared to Kathua, which has six seats while Rajouri has five.
The issue was raised by the Congress delegation during Jammu visit of Commission but it did injustice to the hilly and border district Rajouri. The ruling party BJP has maintained criminal silence against the injustice to various areas and illogical dissection of assembly segments.
Ex-MLC said great injustice was done to Sunderbani which instead of a separate constituency, was dismembered and clubbed with Kalakote and another with Nowshera.
Kalakote lost the status of Independent constituency. This splitting of areas is against all parameters and norms and against the wishes and aspirations of  people.
The party shall again highlight the aspirations of the people and fight against injustice but the exercise of objections should not be merely an eye wash, it is apprehended.
