Commissioner J&K Bharat Scouts, VC CUJ call on Governor

JAMMU, Mar 31: M.M. Joshi, Commissioner J&K Bharat Scouts and Guides Association called on Governor N. N. Vohra, Patron of the J&K Bharat Scouts and Guides Association, at the Raj Bhavan here.
Joshi briefed the Governor about the Scouts and Guides activities carried out by the Association in the past year and the programmes planned to be arranged in the coming months.
Governor observed that the Scouts and Guides movement, which imbues discipline and promotes balanced development of youth, needs to be systematically encouraged and supported by the State Government and Society and called for strengthening and popularising the movement in all parts of the State, particularly the Ladakh region.
Meanwhile, Prof. Ashok Aima, Vice Chancellor Central University of Jammu (CUJ), called on Governor and briefed him about the infrastructure so far developed at the Bagla Campus, Raya Suchani, the current academic and research activities, to-date position of national and ex-India collaborative linkages and the ongoing projects at the Innovation, Incubation and Entrepreneurship Council of the University.
VC informed the Chancellor that the University has secured the AICTE’s approval for conducting M.Tech and Management programmes under which the M.Tech students will be able to avail Fellowships of Rs.12,000 per month.
The Governor emphasised the need to ensure that the University’s essential facilities get fully established in the near future so that the academic, research and extra-curricular activities get going at full stream. He advised the VC to inculcate an environment for sustained hard work and visible discipline in all areas for the University to achieve excellence.
