JAMMU, Oct 1: In a significant development, the Divisional Level Single Window Clearance Committee today rejected the allotment of land, earmarked by SIDCO in favour of four prominent industrial units.
The land was earmarked at Bari Brahmana Industrial Estate in favour of M/s Shivam Metal Shaper Industries Works, M/s Adhishree Cold Storage, M/s Baba Jito Fabricators and M/s Badh Ram Dry Fruits Processing Industry.
The Committee, headed by Director Industries Jammu, Dr Abdul Rashid deliberated the matter and rejected the allotment of land, which was against the norms of J&K Industrial Policy and Government instructions conveyed regarding allotment of land vide procedural guidelines issued in this regard vide Government order number 94 Ind of 2004 dated 31-3-2014, sources informed.
Pertinent to mention that the cases of M/s Shivam Metal Shaper Industries Works and M/s Adishree Cold Storage have been a matter of discussion for quite some time. One industrialist had even filed a complaint to the Chief Minister alleging that then Director Industries and Commerce and Managing Director SIDCO were going to allot 35 kanals of land to one of the established business houses in two-three different allotments ignoring the pendency list.
Regarding these four controversial cases, the Divisional Level Single Window Clearance Committee went through the factual report submitted by DIC Jammu, MD SIDCO and other relevant documents, which established that the land earmarked in favour of these units was totally disproportionate to the proposed land in project reports, without proper location and contrary to an undertaking by the unit holder.
In the light of all these facts, the Committee rejected the allotment of land.
