JAMMU, Apr 1: Jammu Muslim Front (JMF) has demanded conduct of audit of Auquaf Islamia from 1984 onwards and urged upon the Government to get the illegally occupied Aquaf property vacated from the possession of influential and other people in the State.
Front said that Aquaf Islamia which was created with a motive to protect Muslim properties and become a source of support for community in J&K State has been working without any roadmap or proper planning leading to its failure on various fronts.
“Local youth is denied allotment of Aquaf shops. Only those who have money or financial support from other business community, even as they don’t deserve it, manage to get shops and deserving people are neglected because they lack financial support,” alleged JMF general secretary and spokesperson of the Front Shuja Zaffar.
Speaking to the media persons in presence of JMF president Imran Qazi, Front organizer Rashid Ahmed and other members, Zaffar said the time has come when Government accept its failure openly and initiate concrete step to revive the department which is dying slowly.
“Mere talking to make it at par with Shri Mata Vaishnodevi Shrine Board would never solve any issue. We have to uplift and re-organise Aquaf Islamia so that the ethos with which it came into being be revived with full force for the welfare of the community and poor people,” he said.
He said that the revenue generated by the Aquaf Islaima should be invested in raising infrastructure in various places and illegally occupied properties should be taken back.
“We have properties worth crores under illegal occupation but Aquaf Islamia don’t dares to retrieve the same from the illegal occupants,” he alleged.
Muslim youth of Jammu City particularly are without jobs, and they should be provided needed opportunity to come out of the unemployment with special package from the Government though the Aquaf Islamia or though employment package, said Zaffar.
Hitting out at the grass root violations, Front spokesperson demanded audit of the Aquaf Islamia from 1984 and sought white papers of the Aquaf properties in J&K.
