JAMMU, July 24: Conductor of a truck has been arrested along with Rs 9,02,000 stolen cash.
As per police sources, a merchant namely Mohammad Altaf, son of Abdul Rashid of Sangla, Tehsil Surankote District Poonch lodged a written complaint with Police Post Nehru Market stating that one Imtiaz Ahmed, son of Shabir Ahmed of Kheora District Rajouri who is conductor with truck bearing number JK02BK-1185 has stolen his bag containing cash Rs 9,02,000 from the same truck and fled away.
Acting over the complaint, a case under FIR Number 129/2020 under section 380 IPC was registered at Police Station Gandhi Nagar and hunt was launched to nab the conductor.
During the course of investigation, a team from Nehru Market Police Post apprehended the accused and on his disclosure cash amounting to Rs 8,92,000, one newly purchased smart phone worth Rs 8200 and some newly purchased clothes out of the same stolen cash were recovered.
Further investigation into the case is going on.
Police team led by Incharge Nehru Market Police Post SI Sumeet Sharma made the arrest under the supervision of SHO Gandhi Nagar Inspector Gurnaam Choudhary, SDPO South Ram Singh, SP South Deepak Digra and SSP Jammu Shridhar Patil.
