Confed holds protest against discriminatory attitude of Govt

JAMMU, Feb 3: All India Confederation of SC/ST/OBC Organizations held a demonstration here, today in support of the demands of SCs , STs, OBCs and minorities living in the State.
The demonstration started from Ambedkar Chowk, here against the discriminatory and unconstitutional tactics of the Government. A large number of protestors holding black flags and wearing black badges under the stewardship of State president, of Confederation, R.K. Kalsotra, participated in the demonstration which was held on the arrival of Prime Minister, Narendra Modi in Jammu to protest against the unconstitutional tactics of the Government in depriving the weaker sections of the society of Constitutional rights.
The protestors, demanded restoration in promotion. Kalsotra said that the BJP-PDP led Government had in fact done no justice to the downtrodden sections that constitute majority populace in the State living in abject social and educational deprivation.
In the same breath, the Confederation demanded withdrawal of new 13 roster point system in the Universities and restoration of the old 200 roster point system.
He said the height of the non seriousness of the Government can be gauged from the fact that inspite of a number of memoranda, representation and requests, the Governor has till date evaded granting time to the Confederation.
It was strongly demanded that right before model Code of Conduct is imposed, the demands should be met.
Other who spoke were Ramesh Sarmal, Mohd Shafi Bajjad, Shashi Syal, Amar Nath Bhagat, Amur-ud-din Kasana, Dya Ram, Zakir Hussaine, Vijay Anarya, Azam Melu, Satish Borker, Javid Watal, Ashwani Bhagat, Mohinder Kumar, Ashok Kumar, Triloki Nath and others.
