RAJOURI, Aug 26: The Department of Electronics and Communication, School of Engineering and Technology, Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University, Rajouri, has organized a two- day National Conference on Emerging Trends and Innovations in Electronics and Communication Engineering.
The objective of the conference is to acquaint scholars from both academia & industry about the latest trends and innovations in the field of electronics and communication. About 70 delegates from various parts of the country have registered for the conference.
Key note speaker, Prof. R P Saini from IIT Roorkee, highlighted various global and local perspectives of electronics and communication. He stressed upon the importance of gross root research for the development of electronics and communication for the betterment of human society.
Speaking on the occasion, Maj General Raj Sinha, General officer Commanding, Romeo Force, highlighted the role of youth for materialising the dream of making India as the global super power.
Vice Chancellor, Prof Javed Mussarat, in his inaugural address, stressed upon the need of linkage between industry and academia for the creation and dissemination of knowledge for the betterment of the society at large. He highlighted his optimism with regard to taking School of Engineering and Technology to the next level of professional excellence and quality research.
The VC also presented the frame work for the implementation of TEQUIP phase 3 under which the University has secured a grant of Rs 15 crore from MHRD for the development of the School of Engineering and Technology. He also announced the opening up of Entrepreneurship Development cell under TEQUIP in SOET for nurturing the ideas and innovations of budding Engineers.

Deans of various Schools, Heads, Faculty Members, Research Scholars and large number of students were present in the inaugural session. The proceedings of the programme were conducted by Farkhanda Anna while Arshad Ahmed presented the vote of thanks
