JAMMU, Apr 5:  Accusing the ruling BJP at the Centre of hatching conspiracy to destabilize Congress Governments in various States, Pradesh Congress Committee along with District Congress Committee Jammu Urban and frontal organizations  of PCC held a strong protest demonstration near Press Club here today.
A large number of Congress leaders and workers led by led  Raman Bhalla, former Minister  and PCC vice president and other senior leaders of the party held a protest demonstration raising slogans against the BJP led Central Govt over the issue of Central Govt’s attitude towards the Congress ruled states in the country and its undemocratic and dictatorial policies.
Addressing the gathering Mr Bhalla said, “The imposition of President’s rule in Uttarakhand is clearly the murder of democracy. The BJP-led Government in the Centre hatched a conspiracy to destabilize the Harish Rawat-led Government in Uttarakhand,” Bhalla added.
He said in Arunachal Pradesh, the Central Government had first conspired to engineer defection within the Congress which led to the imposition of President’s rule there. “Post the humiliation which BJP faced in Bihar election, it has resorted to unconstitutional means to destabilize the Congress Governments,” former Minister said.
Bhalla said the “toppling” of democratically elected Government in a state was a dangerous trend which does not augur well for the democratic set-up of the country. “The destabilization of Harish Rawat Government after engineering defection at the behest of  BJP, in the Congress legislature and thereafter, recommending imposing of President’s rule, a day before the date fixed for floor test, clearly establishes the undemocratic and unconstitutional mode adopted by the BJP Government at the Centre,” Mr Bhalla added.
Lashing out at hierarchy of PDP-BJP, Mr Bhalla questioned  the delay in Govt  formation and promised to the people to expose hidden agenda which has been agreed within PDP-BJP. He said that the needle of suspension points towards BJP when Army is withdrawn from Tatoo Ground and Tosh Khana in Badgam and the BJP must explain whether allowing the leaders of Hurriyat Conference to the Pakistan National Day in the Pakistan Embassy in New Delhi was the part of agreement of implementation of policies and agenda of Mehbooba Mufti.
Prominent among those who attended the protest included former ministers Mula Ram,  Yogesh Sawhney, Dr Manohar Lal,  senior leaders Balwan Singh, Vikram Malhotra, Manmohan Singh, Shah Nawaj Choudhary, Faqir Nath,  Anil Chopra,  Indu Pawar, Pranav Shagotra,  Neeraj Kundan,  Shiv Dev Singh,  Swarn Lata, Kuldeep Raj Verma,   MK Bhardwaj, Ashwani Puri,  Shashi Sharma, Neeraj Gupta and others.
