Cong leaders support Jammu bandh call

Excelsior Correspondent
Jammu, May 26: Supporting Jammu bandh call given by AIIMS Coordination Committee, several senior Congress leaders have expressed great shock and anguish over the frequent unfurling of Pakistan flags by the pro-Pak elements in different parts of Valley.
In a joint statement here they said it was shocking that the BJP leadership both in the Centre and State is a silent spectator to this anti-national act of the separatists and the support provided to them by the PDP activists and the PDP-BJP coalition Government. It is beyond their imagination and understanding that where does this anti-national activity fit in the common Minimum Programme of PDP-BJP alliance, on which the foundation of the State Government has been laid, to provide a development oriented and corruption free system in all the three regions of the State.
The Congress leaders reiterated their demand for establishment of AIIMS in Jammu. The people of Jammu are cursing BJP for letting down the Jammuites by taking U-turn on all their statements during election campaign. The BJP has totally succumbed to the pressure of PDP agenda, on all issues, including Article 370, AFSPA, Settlement of refugees, delimitation of constituencies, Jammu Tawi lake project and above all a total surrender, for establishment of prestigious AIIMS in Jaamu.
The Congress leaders, were highly appreciable of the initiative taken by the Jammu Bar Association to form coordination committee (CC) to bring all the Social organizations on one platform to struggle for establishment of AIIMS in Jammu. While extending their full co-operation and support to the Bandh call given by the Coordination Committee (CC) for May 27, they warned the BJP to respect the sweeping mandate given by the people of Jammu, during both Assembly and Parliament elections, otherwise be prepared for the consequences.
