JAMMU, July 23: BJP senior leader and former Vice Chaiperson, Balbir Ram Rattan, has charged the Congress and NC of discriminating with the Scheduled Caste community in Jammu and Kashmir for decades together after independence.
He was addressing Jammu North district BJP SC Morcha Sammelan in Amb village of Nagrota Assembly constituency, as the main speaker.
Jammu North BJP district president Omi Khajuria, DDC Chairman, Bharat Bhushan, BJP senior leader, Nand Kishore, SC Morcha district president, Manohar Lal and other leaders also addressed this Sammelan.
Balbir Ram Rattan, in his address, said that the political reservation for SCs in the entire length and breadth of the country was implemented after independence but in J&K, they were deprived of this facility for more than two decades. About 70 per cent from among the West Pakistan refugees were from SC community and they too were deprived of citizenship rights for over 65 years. Not only this, the Governments in J&K under Congress, NC and PDP, recruited thousands of people as daily wagers but the SCs did not have due share in these back door jobs. This all speaks of the anti-SC mindset of the Congress and NC, which ruled the erstwhile State for decades together.
Balbir further said that the Narendra Modi Government has given due share to every community in its welfare schemes and the SCs have always been treated as equal as others. He appealed to the gathering not to fall in the false and misleading narratives of the Congress and its allies and support BJP for peace, progress and prosperity.
Omi Khajuria, in his address, said that the Narendra Modi Government has launched many schemes for the socio-economic upliftment of the weaker sections, the SCs have been benefitted to great extent and their lives changed.
Bharat Bhushan said that the Union Government has been liberal in making funds available for various developmental projects for Jammu and Kashmir and every area is getting place in such projects, which had been just a dream during the times of Congress and NC.
Nand Kishore, said that PM Narendra Modi has adopted the principle of Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas and taken care of every section and community in the welfare schemes launched during the last over ten years.
