NOWSHERA, Apr 8: Congress today held chain protest in Nowshera against Tax terrorism, loot of minor minerals, illegal evictions of small farmers, seeking regularisation of daily wagers and release of full package for refugees of POJK.
Led by senior Congress leader and former MLC, Ravinder Sharma, the functionaries of Block Congress Committees held a chain protest while standing in rows maintaining social distance, to register protest against the various issues confronting the people under BJP regime due to unprecedented price hike of all commodities including petrol, diesel, gas and eatables as well as sand- bajri beyond the reach of common people.
Earlier, addressing the gathering, senior Congress leaders lashed out at the BJP Government for the wrong policies against the farmers, youth, poor people and following pro- rich policies of privatisation etc.
Sharma questioned the `Acche Din’ as huge taxes on each and every item, which have made the life of the people as hell. He said poor people are unable to afford two times meals.The people are suffering on various fronts because of dictatorial policies of the Modi Government but the government is busy in elections only.
He also questioned the government over discriminatory approach towards other forest dwellers including Hindus, Sikhs, Muslims and questioned the BJP Government over the issue besides seeking equal rights.
Ex-MLC also lambasted the government over the removal of girdawaris unilaterally of the occupants including landless, small and marginal farmers over state land and evictions being resorted without any proper policy. He said occupants of more than 30 years need to be given benefits of law of limitation and given rights.
He also sought regularisation of daily wagers, need based, CP workers, ITI trained and land donors and release of their pending wages immediately.He also sought regularisation policy for SPOs, Anganwadi workers, helpers, Asha workers and others contractual employees in different departments.
He also criticised the government for arbitrary orders of white coloured painting of all shops and other commercial buildings on road side in the ongoing economic crises.
Senior members Som Raj Heer, Vijay Bakshi, Ashok Sharma, Chander Bakshi,S Rajinder Singh, Arshad Mehmood, Kishori Dutt Sudan, Doulat Ram and others also spoke on the occasion.
